THE CANOPY ROOM

THE CANOPY ROOM

A spatial study on intimacy, ritual and staged domesticity. Set beneath the existing timber structure of an attic volume, the project constructs a secondary architecture around the act of rest. A suspended canopy becomes both furniture and spatial device — framing the body while redefining the surrounding room. Glass partitions, translucent layers and filtered perspectives create a deliberate ambiguity between exposure and retreat. The bedroom is no longer treated as a private enclosure, but as a sequence of thresholds. The project explores hospitality as atmosphere rather than function. Light, material softness and structural rhythm compose a restrained scenography where the body becomes part of the space itself. Neither fully domestic nor entirely theatrical, the room operates as an intimate stage..
