KLYNEA LOUNGE CHAIR
Contemporary Reinterpretation of the Roman Kline
This lounge chair reinterprets the Roman kline : the reclining daybed traditionally used during banquets - through a contemporary and minimal approach. The design translates this historical typology into an industrial language, combining clean lines, geometric clarity, and structural honesty. The collection exists in two versions: Single-support version: A streamlined interpretation with one raised end, evoking the traditional asymmetry of the Roman kline. Dual-support version: A symmetrical variation with two raised ends, allowing the user to recline in either direction or sit with lateral support, offering greater versatility and comfort. Both versions share the same construction principle: a welded metal frame supporting a seat made from a single bent metal sheet, reinforced by a tubular metal border. The metal shell is upholstered in leather to enhance comfort while intentionally revealing parts of the underlying structure. With balanced proportions and a sculptural presence, the lounge chair transforms an ancient code of rest into a flexible and contemporary resting object.
